My character's name originally came from a character I made up for a short story I once tried to write. The character was Vincent Balgair, which supposedly meant Victorious (Latin) Fox (Scottish, Gaelic?). I decided I didn't quite like how the names rolled off my tongue together, so I started playing with last names starting with a "B" sound, until I got Blake, and decided I like that. This name, however, led to confusion in the RP chat with another character named Blake Spencer, and upon discussing this with him, I decided to change my last name. After some frustration, I started just saying words aloud, until I hit Cross, which I liked. (This tends to be my usual method of coming up with new names. )

If I recall correctly, I picked the bear avatar first 'cause I thought it looked cutest. :cheeky:

So I was thinking of a good name since I didn't want to recycle usernames from various online communities. I thought to myself, "What's a good name for a bear?". Then, it came to my mind that bears had sharp teeth. But what animal would be more known for sharp teeth? The shark, of course. Thus, the name 'Sharktooth' was born. That's it, I guess.

Also, first forum post in a long time! Yay!

Origin...hmm.

Well, let's start with Duxe.

Originally I was thinking of a variety of things such as the Duke ( reference to John Wayne), then there was the title of a Duke, Duke-Nukem, yada-yada-yada but nothing was really sticking. Originally Duxe was going to be known as Nethrite...but I never could create a story for him. What came to my saving grace? My sister's pet dog. Duxe. A chihuahua that had the ego of a great dane and the spastic energy of a lab. That little nutcase drove me up the wall at times. Purposely gave him benadryl just to make him stop trying to run up the wall after some reflection of light...that lasted a whole thirty seconds.

One problem with this, I don't like chihuahua's as a character. *shrugs* So, took my favorite animal ( a-la-wolf) and went with that.

Brackenridge came about after a few weeks into the game. So after asking the dev's to kindly use their game-god powers with sacrifices of bunnies and ramen noodles, I asked for the name Brackenridge to be added onto Duxe. Origin of Brackenridge? had a few buddies of mine in MOS school as my room mates. Blackheart and .... Can't remember. Anyway I took a combination of that, than took a little something off of "Heartbreak Ridge" and vuala! Brackenridge...story wise its a descendent name from "Blackened Ridge"....something I'll have to incorporate into Duxe's backstory as some point or another.

Well. Off into a playland of Sand. enjoy!
