http://badges.etc.cmu.edu/skyrates/ used to forward to http://skyrates.net/ .
It doesn't appear to do that anymore.
Could just be a DNS issue.

I'd been using http://skyrates.net/login-flash.php to log in. This appears to require badges.etc.cmu.edu as it's now stuck. This could be a clue as to why combat is failing, it's trying to fetch something from badges.etc.cmu.edu and the forwarder is broken.

Still can't access Skyrates from http://badges.etc.cmu.edu/skyrates/ , but http://skyrates.net/ works fine.
I just updated my bookmarks.
Might be nice to pop a page at http://badges.etc.cmu.edu/skyrates/ asking folks to correct their bookmarks as well.

The following quotes are taken from another thread (specifically, http://skyrates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2414 ) where they were a bit off-topic. I've included them here for context.

The Forum is full of 'em.

Changing them all would require a database export, search-and-replace appl and a re-importation (is that a word?).

I had to do something similar when I moved a blog recently. I followed the instructions at http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/move/ (which worked flawlessly). They recommended an application that can dig through huge db files without completely opening each one: SCR 1.0.002 Freeware edition.

I hope that helps!

Links within the posts.
Usually they're links to other posts ("oh yeah, the solution to that issue is available here", kinda stuff) or to images or content found elsewhere on the Skyrates serverness ("the manual is available here").

ok, i'll try to find out where that content comes from.

Hmm...we'll investigate the forum issues.
As per phil on the Radio, a chief concern was the added server load such a migration would add. Now that the daily toil on the server has significantly decreased, might now be a good time to revisit this issue? It would require that the Forum be offline for, perhaps, an hour (I hope the addicts can handle that).

I'm coming across old references to http://skyserver.etc.cmu.edu and, more often, http://badges.etc.cmu.edu/skyrates/ quite frequently.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who encountered this annoyance while dredging the forums and remembered phil kicking the can down the road. Way to go, Cal.

I'm adding this request to my list of demands.
