I'd been meaning to do this once I had a few made... and now I do. =P

I've been working on making some custom Skyrates avatars, and I'm willing to make more. This is where I'll have them up for show, and where you can request one of your own.

I'm also willing and interested in doing recolors of the avatars and full characters. Those are, for the most part, much easier, so I'll probably get them done pretty quickly.

To Apply - Full Custom Avatar

For now, I'm only doing ones that we have avatars for (or can be based off crew pictures). If you want one from a species that we don't have Skyrates pictures for, please find some lineart I can use. Note: Lineart must either be from Skyrates, or you must have permission/ownership. Don't link to a random picture that you found on Google, that's illegal for me to work from, as I'm essentially lightboarding to get the basic lines.

AIM/MSN is so that I can talk out details with you and show you preliminary versions to get feedback.

Once you have lineart, fill out this form:



Note 1: You have to convince me I should do yours, or it'll probably stay near the end of the queue until I finish the rest, and who knows when that will be. And you'll convince me either by being active in RP, by having something interesting about the picture, by setting up an art trade with me, or by donating to Skyrates.

Note 2: The order in which I do them is completely up to me. No promises on when any ones listed will get done. The only exceptions are that art trades/paid by donating to Skyrates will actually compel me to get things done.


To Apply - Avatar/Full-body Recolor

For these, you may request any species we currently have official artwork for. Full-bodies are only the PCs, but I have avatar-size for at least some of the crew ones as well (and can probably hunt up the rest), so feel free to ask for those. I am not editing these, only color-shifting them, so there won't be anything too fancy. Unless you specifically say otherwise, I'm assuming these are for personal use, so they won't be openly available for anyone.




Stock Recolors

The following are recolors that I've done for fun, mostly in faction colors. They're available for general use. I have no clue when I'll get around to doing more of these, although you're welcome to request a specific one if you so desire.

You're right, I did. >_> And I panicked for a moment and was scared I'd put that one up for the competition.

^^ Luckily I didn't. And it's fixed now.

For the record - if you're just drawing, you can use any reference up on google. If you're making a profit off of it, then it needs to be ones you have permission to use.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

If that were the case, it would be fine to post such things on sites like DA.

It does depend on how heavily you use it. Given that I'm literally "copying" lineart, it would be like lightboarding.

It's okay for personal use, but I think this would be over the "not okay" line.

These are really great, Kyra. Very cool. I especially like how you handled the fur on Eltsina's face. Nice work.

Too bad we can't yet edit our avatars on this Forum.

She is currently registered on our more secure channels, and I yours is much more crisp than the avatar she has here.
