Almost half way done now!

” Islo was originally known as Torre Azul, but was renamed in honor of Voyager Lawrence Islo, founder of the Azure League. The tower currently serves as the faction’s capital.”

”Much of Islo’s interior is dedicated to laboratories and workshops. Azure League scientists work night and day to develop new technologies.”

”Islo’s vertical structure means that a complex system of lifts and elevators are essential for travel inside the skyland. The Great Elevators are the primary component of this system.”

”The Grand Chamber is the assembly room for the Azure League, and is carved into the solid rock at the base of the Islo tower. Built to hold thousands, even this chamber can fill up if the League debates an important topic.”

”Islo’s runways are equipped with state of the art landing and take off equipment, but pilots are cautioned never to rely on them. You’ll never know when an absent minded scientist decides to tinker with the hydraulics.”

”The monument of Lhasa stood uncompleted for many years, a symbol of the divided skytopia. Attracted to the monument, The Earthern Order finished construction and made Lhasa its capital.”

”Lhasa’s two cliff faces are attached to the central skyland by four great metal fasteners. These fasteners were installed shortly after the Great Upheaval, and have held the skyland together for over two hundred years.”

”Occasionally thrill seekers will string a suspension line from one cliff to the other, and attempt to tightrope across the Lhasa.”

”Lhasa’s monument draws skytopians from all over, and is a popular wedding location.”

”Rock climbing is a popular pastime on Lhasa, and competitions are held annually to race up the cliffs.”

Alpha 6

”Like Alpha 2, Alpha 6 is also missing a rotor module. Unlike it’s sibling platform, its whereabouts are no mystery. An assault by the Hidden Fleet structurally damaged the pylon, which later suffered a catastrophic failure.”

”The radio system suspended underneath Alpha 6 is one of Skytopia’s most advanced. It’s capable of reaching any skyland in the core, and reduces the need for additional radio relays.”

”Although there is little space on Alpha 6, residents have managed to fit in a market place, two grocers, and a public pool.”

”A tradition has emerged on Alpha 6 that any pilot who can make a perfect three point landing earns himself a free drink in the tavern. The violent air currents created by the platform’s rotors make this feat exceptionally rare.”

”A practical joker once repainted the runway markings. A Cyclops ended up through a wall as a result, and the culprit has never been found.”

Luz is the leader in desert food in Skytopia. The best food is the 'Discovery Quesadillas' and the 'Explorer Salad'

Its been rumored that a secret statue of Voyager Islo is hidden deep within the sands of Luz. Some have claimed to see it, but its been dismissed as a mirage.

The people on Luz have to be aware. On the more windy days, Small sandstorms can blow through the main part of the Skyland.

Luz is home to the Lighthouse de Luz. Its beacon can be seen from 500 miles out on a cloudless night.

Luz has been voted the Most Yellow Skyland in Skytopia. THis is a prize is has held over skylands such as Kadath and GoldenRod.

Alpha 2
Though Alpha 2 may appear to be just the average research out post, it holds darker secrets.

Though abandoned in 340 AU Alpha 2 reportedly remains one of the leading future-research institutions... reportedly

Alpha 6

Used as a staging ground for many years by the Crimson Armada, Alpha 6 played a crucial role in the Second Unification. The seemingly begin Skyland housed the 6 Red fighter wings that eventually attacked the peaceful Skyland of Eltsina. After the Unification Alpha 6 was jointly occupied by both the Reds and the Greens. In 200AU however, a mysterious event caused both to vanish. Though faction flags still fly, some say that Alpha 6 houses the shadow government.

Alpha 8

The purple roofs of Alpha 8 are a result of high levels of violet radiation, which inspires poetic thoughts and supposedly boosts crew morale.

 Love it!

Also, I'll try and throw a couple names out too.

Greg (Come on, a Skyland named Greg would be awesome)
And we really need the R&P skyland to be an actual skyland. It'd really help with RP reasons, giving it actual routes nearby etc etc people could reference.
I vote for something of the skylet variety, like Skylet Romeo Papa or Skylet 413 or something.

Eh, better to wait until the ALPHAs are actually new skylands before we start naming them... and I think the R&P being simultaneously everywhere and nowhere is much more convenient.

I believe the R&P was most deliberately not situated on an existing skyland.

Hm. Now I'm picturing shipping grog to Greg. Or is it from Greg?

”When the Azure League controlled Tinkspoit it was a research facility. When the Crimson Armada held it, it was a fortified outpost. When the Jade Hand ran the skyland, it was a trading post. Throughout it all, the weather has remained bitterly cold.”

”There is a lucrative bungee jumping industry on Alpha 11. Safety is taken seriously, as any accidents could ruin the business.”

”Alpha 11 is the only Alpha platform to have done a flip. Although it was considered a disastrous accident at the time, residents have since looked upon the incident with pride.”

”Some residents resent that their skyland's name has entered the skytopian lexicon. Multiple movements have sprung up on Gonk to ban the usage of 'gonk' as an epithet. None have been successful.”

A13 is south of Uur, a little above Leng, east side of the map. I know you're landed here to hear that, but people keep asking.
