Do they change the map or any of the world/background during resets, or is just "here, start over everyone"?

Yes, a map change typically accompanies a reset. I'm looking forward to that, specifically. I don't like the current map.

So, I have been looking at Missions a lot recently (I dare even say, running some) and I noticed that sometimes words are underlined. Some of these ("Cannot be jostled whatsoever", "Watching your performance", etc) mean "Don't get shot down" and "Don't lose or flee combat".

But then there is the "And we will consider you an ally" missions. Do those let you take higher prestige missions on an island? Do they do anything at all? I tried to look this up at skybrary but couldn't figure out a relevant page and same for the FAQs.

As a side note, I realize that, hopefully, mission runners are out of the looking-at-FAQ age, so this may be the wrong thread to ask in. And I could just ask the radio. But it would be nice to have such information public, right?

I'll add it under the "Missions" section.

Yes, the missions in question open up higher-level Prestige/Trust missions. You only need to finish one, though, to open up the higher-level ones at every skyland.

Your factions section needs to be updated.

Flight School is not a faction (never truly was)

We now have Purple (Court of Violets) and Brown (Earthen Order) factions, as well as Orange, who are Independent pilots, affiliated with no faction.

Flight School was a faction, even though it is not any more. But, you know, maybe a flame war about a long dead horse is not the thing to do on the FAQ thread.

http://skyrates.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ is a bit more updated.

Plus, being on a wiki, it has the added bonus that anyone can help edit the content.

And a note to those who haven't noticed it yet - this FAQ is a) over a year old and b) for a previous version of the game, so chunks of it is kinda irrelevant now.

Yeah, but it happens to be a sticky, which means it should be updated or unstickied and allowed to fade, perhaps with a replacement notice sending folks of the Skybrary.

I have a couple of questions, actually.

Firstly, what exactly is the "Skyland Mood" for? And what does it affect?

Also, I've noticed that the pirates aren't stealing my cargo when I get shot down. Nor does my armor deplete when that happens. Not that I'm complaining about this, mind you, I was just curious if it was happening to others. xD

If mood is high, then the owning faction gets an influence bonus. If the mood is low, then all other factions get an influence bonus. There is no way to influence mood other than flipping a skyland (which sets it's mood to the highest possible). Capitals are always Celebrating (+50% to owner, +0% to all others) unless they are held by a faction which should not hold that skyland (for example, if the Armada took Islo, or the Court took Lhasa, etc. etc.), in which case they are always Rioting (+?% to all?) with no exceptions.

This was removed during the early phases of the round because it made trading impossible if you got shot down even once, because of the changes to profit amounts. Armour loss was modified so that flights didn't turn into early wins and then a long string of losses.
