I just hopped into a Kingfisher and am ready to begin purchasing upgrades, new guns and looking for gun mods. It's basically stock at the moment, though I do have a fancy Sleigh Bell installed.

I'll be focusing on running Influence, but don't prefer to grind Combats and I can update my queue only once per day.
I've lost the list of upgrades and whatnot I used last round, so...

Your challenge: Pimp my Kingfisher.

In order of importance (in my opinion):

  • Sell the KingFisher. Buy a Lancaster.
  • Larger Props, R Sticker, Port & Polish
  • Additional Cargo Hold, Lightweight Shell
  • Gutted Cargo Hold when you need more cargo, Internal Fuel Expansion when you need range, Steel Hull when neither
  • Mega Ammo, Super Ammo
  • High-Lift Wings, High-Performance Wings
  • Experiment with guns. I prefer all MGs, but howitzers on the wing guns can be useful. EB, ER, AP.

This gives you a 30% speed boost over the Fisher, and an 8% CKPH boost. The Fisher is more of a 36 hour plane than a once per day plane.

Good input, but not an option for me.
The KF is like my retirement grease.
36-hour is okay by me. Last round, my queues were usually around 32 and it worked nicely.

EDIT:
In case it matters, I've maxed Creative Storage and will max Fuel Efficiency soon (to be followed by the final level of Flight License, probably).

The rest applies, then, except for the Larger Props. And don't rely on any cargo upgrades except for Additional, unless you need to temporarily expand your hold for a mission load. Anything more than Additional slows you down and doesn't compensate with enough extra cargo.

And I enjoyed howitzers on the diagonal tail guns of the KF, but, experiment to find what you like best.

I'll give it a shot.

I just re-discovered Hotmod (http://hotmod.yolasite.com/). With Nehp's greasemonkey patch, I'll begin plugging these upgrades in and see how the numbers break down.
