Music is basically my life.... but I'll probably be the only one that listens to what I do since it's all christian

Anyway I love rock in all forms except screamo (kinda grates on the nerves)
Bands like: Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, 12 Stones, Nevertheless, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Chasen, FM Static, Hawk Nelson, Relient K, Kutless, Skillet, Sanctus Real, Audio Adrenaline, and occasionally Le Crae (christian rap)

Current Favorite Band: Decemberadio

Basically anything though... these are my favs

Not really something I'm listening to at the moment, but the idea in itself is rather awesome and should be interesting to the music lovers in this thread.

Sometime in 2002, a Swedish artist (as in paint, video, installations, performance) bought the rights to a rather enigmatic Eighties love song called "You Don't Love Me Yet" and invited a number of local artists to perform versions of it at a small concerts. She subsequently recorded an all-singing, all-dancing version of it, complete with a small choir singing the main track and some form of bowed string instrument on lead and filmed and exhibited the recording. This, in itself, is only vaguely interesting. Next, however, she grabbed the idea and took it on the road.

Since then, she's been invited to exhibit at various places. At first throughout Sweden, then Scandinavia, then through the rest of the world. On the last night of every exhibition, as she did the first time in Sweden, she invites local bands and musicians to perform their own version of the song, however they see fit, as long as they stick to the lyrics. Thusfar, she's done this some 25 times, and at every exhibition, she sets up a table laden with DVD recordings of all the concerts, so you can sit down, ignore the videos being played on all sides and enjoy the sights and sounds of a hundred musicians performing one song a hundred ways.

The latest stop was this and last month in Oxford, my home town, but, alas, I won't be around for the concert.

Info and stuffs, including the Stockholm recording, are here

I second that nomination, while Pandora is good for finding new music, Grooveshark will let you play the song you wanted to hear in the first place without sending you through a mud-pit of dubiously related music.

I recently got into Theresa Andersson, a singer/songwriter who also plays violin and guitar. She does all these things while looping herself live. See also: awesome.

A very different live looper that I like is Kid Beyond. No drum machine, no instruments, and no pre-built tracks.

Kid Beyond - Wandering Star

How he does it

May I recommend the rather excellent Stereomood. What separates it from your common-or-garden web radio station is the way that you choose an activity or mood and can listen to songs tagged under that playlist. I find it's very good for finding new artists.

Discovered this a few months and I keep coming back: http://www.playingforchange.com/

Excellent video editing combined with especially smooth mixing make the first several episodes delightful.
Start with http://www.playingforchange.com/episodes/page5 and work your way back to page 1.

Good stuff.
