Learning a dance form that can be performed at any social gathering or party is a brilliant idea. Ballroom dancing fits the bill right. Finding economical ballroom dance classes are very important. Ballroom Dance Lesson NYC offers students with the best of dancing options at a reasonable price. The best part of these lessons are that the timings are very flexible, so, that all learners can choose a timing that suits their schedule.

Ballroom dance refers to any dance form that is performed in a ballroom or salon. This dance form got its name from the Latin word “ballare”, which means “to dance”. This dance form was specially created to differentiate between the privileged and backward classes. This dance form was made for the upper-class people whereas the folk dances were left for the lower class people.

Many styles were developed in England and now it is standardized by the World Dance Council (WDC). There are many styles of dance that comes under the ballroom dance category such as tango, salsa, Argentine tango, Lindy Hop, Jive, cha-cha-cha, sequence dancing, Polka, Mazurka, Merengue, Hustle, Mambo, etc. United States of America created two dance forms to this genre – American Smooth and American Rhythm.

Dance schools in New York City offer three types of dance lessons – online, private and regular sessions. Regular sessions provide lessons on a regular basis. These dance lessons are the most loved because learners get to learn new steps daily with the guidance of trained dance instructors. It is a known fact that practice can only lead to perfection.

Ball: "dancing party," 1630s, from Fr., from O.Fr. baller "to dance," from L.L. ballare "to dance," from Gk. ballizein "to dance, jump about" (see ballistics). Hence, "very enjoyable time," 1945, Amer.Eng. slang, perhaps back to 1930s in black slang.
And exending it a but further still:
from PIE base *gwele- "to throw, reach," in extended senses "to pierce" (cf. Skt. apa-gurya "swinging," balbaliti "whirls, twirls;" Gk. bole "a throw, beam, ray," belemnon "dart, javelin," belone "needle"). Here, too, probably belongs Gk. ballizein "to dance," lit. "to throw one's body," ancient Greek dancing being highly athletic.
His etymology skills are nice, but I'd be more impressed if he mentioned the Greek.

Yes they do.

Kind of hard to dance in, though. I can see why you'd need lessons.
