"A rare bird in these parts, quite like the black raven"?
Or were you aiming for "My black [slave] is as rare on this earth as a phoenix"?

So having looked all that up, more or less, I'm still wondering whether the duke -meant- to switch a crow for a swan?

Does it count if I had to Google it for the exact meaning but could work out the odd word before Googling?

If you could have one small bit of customization, what would it be?

Craft Customization?

Something else?

How much could you be happy with? Would just a palette shift suffice?

I'd like to be able to paint my plane and pick/color different clothes.

I'd like the ability to paint my plane as well. Avatar/character customisation would be nice too. The ability to change the color palette to one of a handful of choices, and maybe even a set of costume choices. I notice the avatar for the male boar looks very much like he's wearing Red Faction military clothing. It would be neat to be able to choose that look, or another, less military one if your character wouldn't wear that kind of thing. A few choices, easily click-to-able and changeable, would go a long way toward making my character feel like s/he's really mine and not just a generic picture.

I mentioned this before, but I'll throw it out again.

I've been working on doing color-shifts off all the characters. They're coming out reasonably well, and I figured I'd make a stink of it once I'd finished them. I've got all the females done, and some of the males.

http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e390/ ... /?start=20

They come in Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and occasionally also Original (if the original didn't fit one of the others).

If I could get the original file (i.e., Photoshop or whatever it was made on), I could do them more precisely, as it is I'm kinda cheating, but they're coming out nicely which is what really matters.

I'd really like to wear something other than a bright orange flight suit. I'd also really like paint jobs for the planes, but different avatars for the forum would help a lot too. I don't really pay attention to the names of people who are posting, just their avatars. This poses a problem, because I automatically think all male waluri are phil, all female monkeys are Z!, all female cats are Kyra, etc. So when two female monkeys are in the same discussion, I think Z! has lost it and is responding to herself. ^^;;;

I confess I also have this problem of distinguishing posters, ameliorated slightly by the fact that I can occasionally also snag the color of a name in my peripheral vision, permitting me to usually tell phil from BL and Z! from Lomondra (but not to distinguish much within the feline and vulpine hordes).

Planes, please. The character art is too good to let people customize it too much. The plane art is also good, but paint schemes and a few bibs and bobs would probably suffice for custom jobs.

ALSO: I'm all for the zone-color option Circle was mentioning. For planes, the system used for making paint jobs in Crimson Skies should be readily adaptable and not overly wacky to implement. I also support the idea of community-submitted/dev-approved artwork. It occurs to me that Wings being able to submit a unit symbol would be a nice draw, though there'd need to be a minimum-membership rule --- maybe six actual players, no alts? Eh, it's a thought.

only insofar as you can sneak html into your group description. I think Gunnar envisions something a little more formal than that.

I was indeed: I'd like to see in-game logos, even if they only appear on your own client.

This would create a thriving side business for Tommy. I would definitely commission him for mine.
