Because the negative frame was rotated slightly, methinks.

I know nothing about the tuna fish though.

This pilot hopes for the ability to recolor our avatars. Being a fox is nice and all, but sometimes I think it'd work out better if I was a blue gray ^_^

Z!, I'm hurt. Just Tommy? I know I'm slow at getting them done, but still!

Kylen - I have a thread in Skyrates Created Content. Post there, and I'll get to it. Eventually. ^^;

Aside from the very talented player-artists, the approval work the Devs have to do to take custom avatar requests is a pain in the butt. Kingdom of Loathing does custom avatars, and charges fifty bucks for them. That's out of my price range for a fancy stick figure, but I'm sure there are a few Skyrates (me included) who'd be happy to part with a couple bucks to look unique.

I vote for simple palette-swapping action on both characters and planes. The more complex customization can be saved for later on, or even another build, righty?

I mean, if I ever get the means to convert a Vengeance into a flying rail-gun, it has to be blue. The whole concept just won't work in red.

... ... I can solve the problem of keeping the two fuselages from being blown separate by magnetic force later on. (replace the connector sections with pneumatics and springs?) That's not nearly as important as making it blue. :remycute:

The ability to use alternative palettes for characters would be wonderful. :)

Definitely character customization, and palette swaps would be just fine. Best of all possible worlds for me would be if we could have four zones of coloration -- hair, eyes, main clothing, accent clothing -- with an infinite colorwheel, ala Dofus. However, making it simpler and having ten-ish color choices for each would also be quite nice (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, brown, and black, for instance).

I'm agreeing with a lot of the views more options for customising your character and the option to customise your plan would be good. And the idea to gain money for it would work id happily pay a little towards getting a more me like character.

Character palette swapping is not very difficult I would imagine, mostly because it's something that's only local and only visible to the person playing the game on that character.

Plane palette swapping though would likely require a considerable re-write to the whole combat engine and the world view engine, especially if you're going to want everyone else's planes to also be palette swapped. Imagine the amount of extra data that needs to be added to the database and transferred from server to client, just for the overworld view alone, not to mention the memory requirements.

Heh heh.

For world view/character screen, I think it's enough to view just your own customized color. For other people, maybe provide a link to their own spiffy webskyte where such information belongs?

And then there's combat, which is a can of worms. :remywicked:

Depending on the complexity of the color swap, I don't think it would require that much extra. Storage would simply be another field in the table for color. Memory might add a little, but I'm sure there's some programming tricks around changing colors around, again based on the complexity. If the overhead view is simply changing one color X to color Y, I don't think it'd be too bad. If you're talking about two or three colors on each plane changing, then I could see it being a bit more problematic.
