If you were to see a new plane stat under the 'Other' section that was called 'Silhouette', and had a number, what would you think it meant?

Please give your first impression without reading other replies.

I'd say something involving visibility, or the size, meaning how hard(Or easy) it is to hit.

I would think it was related to how difficult the plane was to hit. A larger number would mean the plane is easier to hit.

Size of hittiness. Uh, you know, hittiness being how big it is to hit.

Silhouette: Sorta like they did in WW2, publishing pics to help spot enemy planes - how big they are, how easy to hit, and how much trouble they are. As a flyer, recognition of the opposing craft in combat to gain a tactical advantage.

I agree with Jakan on this one, but it would seem a little obscure to me.

Sorry. I meant, plane hittability/size.

How big the plane is in combat.

Given the meaning of silhouette, I'd imagine it'd have to do with the size and shape of the plane.

As a stat, I'd suspect it'd have to do with how easy something was to hit. Given that simple plan size already shows and affects combat, I'd suspect it'd have a lot to do with height and so on (e.g. a Blimp would have a larger silhouette and therefore a worse Silhouette score relative to another plane with the same size sprite that was flatter).

just how big it's sprite is. Bigger is bigger, probably related to area rather than length or width.
Mostly because I always thought a baseline comparison would be handy, and I'm looking for such a thing.

When I think silhouette I usually think tanks, but I would suppose it means the same thing (how tall/wide a cross section is and therefore how easy to hit) for planes. A silhouette stat would be interesting (and more realistic), although it would make those pesky performance planes even more time difficult to fight.

Why not just call it size if that's the case? It might not be as technical, perhaps not as correct but it'll be easier to understand and won't cause as many "What does [X] mean?" questions.

As well as size it could also potentially mean how easy it is to recognise as you're approaching it (take the silhouettes of the Skylands - some are more recognisable than others.)

I also wonder if there are more people out there that might have alternate suggestions but haven't posted them for fear of looking a fool after the long trail of "SIZE!" posts that have already gone up?

I'd think it would affect how well a plane shows up on radar, which would include how enemy AI reacts to your plane.

Without reading any previous guesses. I'd say something tasty that hopefully I'll get to see in full glory soon. Then start speculating as to the worthiness of said plane based on its stats. Then poke the devs to release said plane without its complete artwork just so I could see it in combat.

[edit]
Oh silly me, I only read the 'new plane' and neglected 'stats'

Then I'd obviously find out what it is, and how to use this number to improve mah income!
[edit edit]
And now I've read previous responses, my guess would be that number would be related to ammo absorption rate of each craft, abbreviated as AAR!

I would say it probably has something to do with the hitbox, or how easy it might be to hit the plane.

I'd think Silhouette would refer to a plane's profile. I.e. a Nova or Inger would have a very small silhouette while a Levi or 'Cuda would have a huge profile and should be substantially more hittable.

Scrolled right to the bottom.

First impression = ease of targeting.
Second impression = size of sprite.
Third impression = how darn fine looking the plane is... just joking.

The first two.

Hit probability and radar cross-section.
