In response to Gil's first post: Umm...hmm...probably some sort of edge of hitbox or something out from the actual sprite.

Sounds like something to determine the frequency and possibly base level of combats encountered on a flight leg.


Edit- After reading through all the replies, I really wonder why everyone is so {static}-bent on thinking it could be a combat stat.

I'd guess the (visual) cross-section of the plane - i.g. how hard it is to see and thus hit in combat.
Like the DM you get for target size in RPGs.

But I'd probably just call this stat Size.

IRL, stealth aircraft are optimized for small Radar Cross Section (RCS).
And in the visual domain, there was the Blohm+Voss BV40 figher glider.

The size of the target. A plane with a larger number is like a big target, and with a smaller number is like a smaller target.
