This thread is intended to be used for discussion of the legendary combats. Please reply here with any impressions you have.

Did the combat seem too hard/easy for the area it appeared in? How often are you seeing certain combats? How do the new planes behave? Is the reward for the combat too little? Too much? Do you have ideas for other combats that can happen?

Hidden Fleet's way too hard. When an armor-modded Thunderbolt has to run in the first 5 seconds...

It seems that the level of difficulty isn't taken into account for the combats.

I got 2833 Gold with Salvage 1/5 at a Level 6 difficulty while Flirtail gets 2700 Gold with Salvage 1/5 at Level 27 difficulty. Is this as intended?

*Edited for clarity

I agree. Platforms are so hilariously overpowered that the win counter might as well be a loss counter.

Ok, platforms: right now they are in my opinion too powerful. I was about halfway through the 'h' in 'oh crap' when I'd lost four shields, afterburning through one arc. It then killed me. And I'm in a fully tricked out, 40 sil, 9 armor, 17 AC, 21 Mv, 885 kph Tbolt.

Platforms are like fuelies with anger managent issues and a deadly nucleair deathbeam of doom.

Bah. I cleared out a Platform in my Barashiki. Y'all are pansies. Seriously though, make sure you aren't spawning us in their arcs (I did and lost half my armor before I got out) beyond that you can take them if you're patient and work the gaps (can't be impossible if I did it in my 'Shiki). These should be difficult combats and the player should need to work to achieve victory.

Now that armor doesn't wear down over time I'm fine with the current state of affairs.

The 'difficulty' level of the combat is not taken into account for the reward of the legendary combat.

Difficulty of X has a Y% chance of spawning legendary A. Legendary A has a reward of B for defeating it.

Does that make sense? It is entirely likely that the value of B needs to be raised.

I haven't fought one yet, but this is essentially what it took to defeat them the last time around. How do they compare to their original difficulty, taking into account that we did much less damage back then?

It seems to me that towers rotate faster than they did in 2.3. I'm doing combats on an alt in a Hades, and it was impossible to maneuver between the arcs like you did in 2.3.

I think in 2.3 there was an AI quirk - if you could get lined up with one of the short arcs, the platform would keep trying to point it at you, which would let you fly between the long ones.

I haven't met a 2.5 platform, so I can't speak to their current behavior, but it sounds like the platforms might have lost the smaller arcs.

The Hades was a much better combat plane in 2.3 than now.

YES. My alt spawned at the end of the arc, flying directly toward the platform; died before he could turn away.

I don't mean like you could in a Hades, I mean like you could in general.

Could I spawn either much closer or much farther away from a platform? I'd like the ability to see what's killing me before it does.

Parades and 9 Luftballoons spawn at levels too high to be remotely challenging -- groups of tier 0 planes with Small guns should probably cap around level 15 or so, I've seen these above 20. I would also suggest altering it to 9 and 9 Luftballoons, for musical reasons, I don't think 18 balloons would be any more difficult than 9.

Would it be unfair to drop an Inger into the Koi Pond or 1001 Cuts? Will there be a Remy fight, or a higher level Cargo Run?

Otherwise, wonderful to see these things in the game.

But for 9 and 9 wouldn't we need a second color of balloon?

Otherwise, I like Navvy's sugestions... except that an Ingersoll should probably be its own special combat like Remy, not part of my innocent regular special combats.

Eh, the point of the easy fights is for them to be easy.

All of the normal fights are easy. I want the specials to be a little more difficult or just plain weird. Two balloons, two goldfish and a junker is neither of those once you're in a Phantom.

Red balloons? Nah, I figure changing colors is a Skyrates tradition.

Could there be maybe one rare special combat with an Inger snuck in... ?

There should be legendary combats that newbies can enjoy too.

Just so, Sunrunner. But Navvy's and my point is that it's a little silly for those same newbie legendaries to then appear for a Thunderbolt, without any scaling up.
