I had this same problem - it failed when I followed the validation link that asked you to copy and paste the code separately. When I followed the link with the validation code built in, then it worked fine.

To be more specific:
When validating the account, I initially followed the generic link and pasted in the given code. This took me to a screen that asked whether I was trying to create an account, validate, login, etc. When I clicked login, I was not actually able to login. I went back and repeated the account creation process (I hope this didn't break anything given that it was the same account name and email and all) and then followed the link with the code built in, and that took me right to a page saying the validation was successful and with just a link to login.

Yeah... something is broken about the code paste method, but not the other link method. Your validation row is still valid though, try the other link. I'm looking into the paste thing right now.

I had exactly this problem, and this solution worked for me earlier.

Also, from a usability standpoint, the clickthrough link should actually be offered first in the email, with the one that requires copying and pasting as a second option.

Thes.

I feel like the red-headed step child. I even created a new login with another e-mail account and I still can't login.

It seems to hang on Looking up crossdomain.xml. I've tried it on Firefox 3, IE6 and IE8.

I created another account, but that one does the same thing.

Also, in the Firefox Error Console, I get the following error message when I hit play:

"Permission denied to call method Location.toString"

All the same, I'd rather be debugging the game and not the login screen, but anyway I can help...

Oh, El Gordo, crossdomain stuff has been changing like crazy the past few days.

Have you created a character? Beyond that, do you get stuck about 1/3rd way through loading the client?

I'm not catching what you mean by "can't log in". Where in the process exactly do things fall apart?

Just that: stuck 1/3rd way through loading the client. I've created two separate logins and numerous characters.

I suppose it may not matter now...
