I'm curious to know why this is only for safari and chrome browsers only? Kath y u no firefox

I initially made Skylight for Safari because Safari had some capabilities under the hood (that Firefox lacked) that made Skylight easier to make, because I wanted to learn about making extensions for Safari, and because Safari is the browser I like to use.

I then also made a version for Chrome because it can do those popup notifications, because I knew that silly Windows users would whine about Safari, and because Chrome and Safari have certain similarities under the hood.

Firefox has progressed a bit, so it would be easier to write the Firefox extension now than it would have been then, though it wouldn't have the popups like Chrome. But I have no interest in actually doing that work, so no firefox 4 u.

Katie, can the left bar (containing queue, skyland, money, and options) be minimizable into the left side so the chat can be the entirety of the client? And with that, have the chat bar double in size?

And the point of this would be to have a larger place to type into? If so, Maya has you covered. Read this. If not so, read that anyway.

Running 2012.8.1.0, and I get this:

Which is a bit weird. Chrome v21.0.1180.57, OS X 10.7.4.

It was the update to Chrome 21, but I fixed it.

Feature request! Besides getting it to work consistently in Chrome for Android (which I'll love you forever for!), ability to use keyboard shortcuts to switch the active tab would be super dooper. For serious.

Alt+Shift+Left / Alt+Shift+Right for previous / next channel.

Alt+Shift+g, Alt+Shift+f etc. to jump straight to a channel.

Let me know if you want those changed to something else.

So Roleplay is ctrl+5, then you switch to your alt who is not in a faction or a wing and now it's ctrl+3? No thanks.

Also, ctrl+num is already a thing. See Chrome Windows keyboard shortcuts and Chrome Mac keyboard shortcuts.

I don't know what I was thinking with Alt+Shift. They should be Ctrl+Alt. I'll change them soon enough.

I was thinking fixed numbers, though sure.

I use Ctrl+Alt for hyperdock in pushing windows around to parts of the screen :(

Mmmph. So apparently on Windows systems, you can't install anymore, and they block it if it was. You can do an unpacked via developer, but I imagine that's a bit complicated for folks. What's involved with getting skylight on the store?

Already did it. It's entirely all Kathy's stuff, just had to remove a single field (update-url) from the manifest.json

Kathy, if/when you upload Skylight to the Chrome Web Store proper, lemme know and I'll take my upload down. It is unpublished, and will only be linked here.

Okay okay, it's on the store. Windows users might need to reinstall from there, others need do nothing.
