I feel this needs to be bumped.

Haha I think I broke Slour's avatar when trying to replace it with this : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... n_blue.svg now I have no way, or idea of how for that matter, to get it back.

If you see an icon there, you'll need to click it and "Clear this override". If the icon's gone it's a little more complicated.

Also, svg's might not be the best type of file for this...

I'm not the technical wizard behind this, but I think something about it being vector and not really having a set resolution (I think?) might have something to do with it.

I really don't know anything about image types, I just picked the first one I could find that seemed good enough to use here.

And yes I think the icon is gone, unless of course you mean the walrus that's floating on the side of my screen.

The custom avatars aren't showing for me anymore, despite Phil's floaty-face-with-the-pencil-stuck-up-his-nose still floating around in my screen's corner.

I think that's just a generic walrus with shades.

But yes, the forum update has broken it - not that we were exactly warned about it. I doubt it'll take long to fix though.

Arright, fixed. For the userscript, you'll haveta click the script link again, and Chrome should just update automagically in a few (or when you next click Update Extensions).

(The lack of useful semantic data in the current forum's html makes me cry :()

SVGs should be fine, if they have built in sizing data (which some do). Of course, if your browser can't even display it (as it sounds like), it's a tad more complicated. Basically, you need to (assuming firefox) head into about:config, search for skycust, and edit the override list, which basically shows what you expect plus some other necessary syntax. If you haven't made any significant changes, it might be easier to delete the override list altogether.

I'll make a UI for editing the override list at some point.

Well, just removing and reinstalling skycust worked.

Oh, right, completely forgot about this...

I dunno. The thinking was that changing the avatar then and there was a quick confirmation that yes, what you did worked. It'd be a lot more complicated to change it for all avatars of that person on the page.

And I think it's really only an issue if you think it doesn't remember it from page to page (which it does). It's a one-time thing, and you aren't annoyed by it ever again once you leave that page.

The current version of Skycust appears to be broken. It's replacing the forum faction icon below the avatar picture with the custom avatar, at least on my machine. Can anyone else confirm?

The same is happening on mine. I just updated, to no effect.

Afflicting both FF and Chrome. I suspect it's due to a change in the forums rather than anything else.

I did say I hated the new lack-of-semantic-information, didn't I?

What that essentially means, is that instead of being able to tell the script to "replace the avatar image" I have to tell it "replace the second image in this region". Which obviously breaks when the devs move the online button to below the avatar image.

...sigh. It's a one character fix; update and be happy.

Two new features for y'all. One:
Code:
tj6OiSlcjzavZq3-8-L1rYw
This is a new Skycust server containing some avatars from that other thread. As always, you can add it by copying that code into your walrus's "Spreadsheet key" field, and you can have an avatar added by contacting a tSotW representative directly or by adding your avatar to "Unmoderated Avatars" with a note.

Two: This form lets you submit your custom avatar for all to see without even needing to operate a spreadsheet. Y'know, in case google docs wasn't already super easy. And of course you can use this method to get your avatar added to the new server.
