Yeah, Mr. Dolomite is awesome at Wikia like that. He and Calvin are the two that are primarily responsible for prettying up the place.

And yes, I did write the Post Aviation page for Pierce. He seems to like it a great deal too.

I have a user-page up on the Skybrary. :)

The "catalog"/"Ribeira_Decimal_Cabinet" page is a listing of everything, but done manually. I can go through the "allpages" soon and add more to it. Basically, it's more organized than the other methods, so it's a lot easier to follow. I don't know if there's an automatic way to do it, since the automatic way insists on alpha-order rather than categorized but still able to see the individual pages.

Yeah, the RDC is kinda clunky.

There is an automagically generated, updated and organized list of every article on the Skybrary, or rather... there can be, if folks would help categorize pages. Read on.

Every page on the Skybrary should be tagged as belonging to a category (this is not yet the case, but we're working on it). Categories work kind of like subjects.
In many cases, these category pages are usually members of some other category. The "Poetry" category, for example, is tagged as being a member of the "User created content" category.

As you "work your way up" the categories (or subjects, I suppose) become more and more general (i.e. poodles --> dogs --> animals --> living things).

So, if you start at the "top most" category, you can (in theory) browse your way down to whatever subject you're interested in.

The "top most" category on the Skybrary is called, simply, "Browse". You'll find a link to it on the first, Main page or you can visit http://skyrates.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Browse .

The problem with the categories is you only see the ones that are in the top category (although if the pages are done properly, that should be all of them), and you don't see the categorization. So if you're looking for a specific page you have to guess which of the categories it'll be under.

Also, the RDC is a good place to list pages we want... they'll show up red there, so we can skim to see which pages need to get added. =P

Update: I went through "M" on the allpages list, and everything that I didn't think needed deleting was put in the RDC. Also, there's now a list in the Community Portal of pages I found that need something done to them (mostly deleting/merging).

I'll stick to what I have on my page currently, thanks. I'm kinda confused.

Okay, I made lots of updates to the RDC, and it's basically got everything in it. Also made updates to the Community Portal.

If you'd like something to do, feel free to attack any of the following:
*Look through the RDC for pages that have red links. These need to be written.
*Look at the Community Portal, pick one of the things listed, and do it. If you do this, please either clear the bullet when you're done, or mark under it (with your signature) what you did in regards to it/what you think should be done.
*Create an account (if you haven't) and put your character bio in it, then add it to the RDC list of PCs
*Look at the list of active users and choose one to write a character bio for.

That contradicts some things in the skybrary. For instance, it already shows a picture for a Birthday celbration in 208 AU, i.e. a celebration that has not happened yet.

Actually, the current year is supposed to be 208. Apparently that page hasn't been updated since we decided that.

I think the Skyrate Info template's a little clunky. I'm going to write up some additions and maybe try to wikify it in my spare time. (Sorry, I hate using templates.)

EDIT: Also, there's always the problem with alts. The most obvious solution I can think of is make user alt pages redirect to the main's page, where there's an hash-anchored section for said alt.

True 'dat!

I hate browsing thru the Categories. But, it's good wiki-ness to keep everything categorized. So, we're trying to be sure every page has a Category assigned to it.

If you're like me, and I know I am..., you use Mozilla Firefox's built-in web search feature to search the Skybrary directly from the browser's toolbar. Mine does a pretty good job at text-prediction as well.

Very nifty.

Yeah, I know. We're working on correcting tons of pages. It is confusing. To make matters worse, a consensus was only recently reached on which system to use.

In a nutshell, using the Skytopian Civil War (185-190 AU) as a baseline (I don't remember why that was chosen, but anyways), we basically count months as years for events occurring after SR1 began (in December 2006).

As you come across other pages with weird dates, please edit the pages or PM me.

I like what Tarlach's done. See http://skyrates.wikia.com/wiki/User:Tar ... _Skylancer and its "parent" page http://skyrates.wikia.com/wiki/User:Tarlach , for example.
That seems intuitive and like a great way to include IRL info too (on the "parent page", if ya like).
