Level 9 trader gets you 29% off of regular goods and 59% off of paper/steel. I suspect there is some sort of fraction and rounding going on, which is why I get 59% instead of 58% for paper/steel.

Thanks Fex.
I've updated the chart on http://skyrates.wikia.com/wiki/Crew

Updated for trader 7: 23%, 46%. You're right, I guess she must have randomly dinged a lower level of happy until brought back up with bounties/profits.

Level 10 trader (10 is the max level) gets you 33/66%. Good times.

Two traders at level 10 is giving me the same rates Fex. I was getting that same rate when they were both level 9 too. Looking over you data it appears that a second trader gives you one bonus level to the top trader (although it doesn't fit a few of your trader datapoints). However, they don't appear to be able to go over level 10.

I think since I'm getting the same rates as you I might just fire the second trader and get a mechanic (although that will be quite annoying if I'm wrong).

Yeah that fits my experience hiring a second trader with the first already at level 10. Bah.

Alright, so I fired my second trader (and hired a mechanic) and then the data gets a bit inconsistent.

Following the firing/hiring I got 33% and 66% on the next 6 trades. However, after paying the crew wages I'm getting all 31% and 62%. The whole crew is at max happiness too. The other weird thing is for the first time profits/bounties were not split at all after paying the wages.

Not sure what's going on. Perhaps the new crew mechanic is screwing things up so I might try firing them (the personality doesn't match the others so maybe thats it?).

Odd...

My trader went from 22% to 23% last night, the only thing that changed was my Nav leveled. Any ideas?

I'm starting to suspect personality affects trading to some degree.

When I have an incompatible personality type with my trader on rollover I get 31% and 62%. If I fire the incompatible personality my ratings don't go up.

If I only have my trader and nav (same personality) on rollover I get(keep?) 33% and 66%.

Not sure yet whether the 31% will rise on it's own to 33% on a rollover but I suspect so.

Hiring a trader when at 31% and firing them later makes me keep the 33%.

Note that in both cases the crew members are at max happiness and won't take any more bounties/profits. They definitely take more bounties/profits when the personalities are different though.

Been trying to find a mechanic with the same personality to see if I get the 33% and 66% but I haven't found one yet.

Was waiting to post this until I had a bit more data but figured this might help shed some light until then.

Well I finally found a mechanic who doesn't make my other crew unhappy. In fact, they don't even share any profits/bounties anymore. Oddly enough though the new mechanic isn't the same personality as the other two.

So my guess is either the devs made a change, the text doesn't indicate personalities, some personalities get along with others, or there's only a few different personalities divided into different groups.

In any case here's the 13 different hire texts I found (along with the 3 sayings of one of them and another I'm not sure about):

Knock knock. Who's there? Me looking to join your crew!
Good day, caption. May I be of assistance?
Come on, you know you need my help.
Come come, let us make a deal
It's said that the most wealthy skyrate is he who has friends. Care to make a friend?
Either hire me or move on.
Greetings. I am sure we can come to a mutually beneficial situation
Need a Hero? I'm just what you're looking for.
Yes? What do you want?
I'm just the skyrate you're looking for, aren't I?
Want to be my friend?
Hi there! I'd love to fly in your ship!
If in your employ, I will endeavour to do my best.
-Go forth, captain. I will follow.
-The skies are as glass. We are but a brief glimmer. The sun set, we go.
-I remember the stories of when the land was land and the air was air. Not so anymore.

Note sure which one these belong to (I think "Hi there! I'd love to fly in your ship!")
-They say there's something out there in the black. I mean to find out.
-Let's get to some action!
-Bring it on! We've got an entire world to conquer!

(Edited to add other hire text)

Actually, I think that last set comes from "Need a Hero? I'm just what you're looking for."[/quote]

I may be able to make quite a bit of research on crew members available on Wednesday.
I'll be posting it on the Skybrary and providing a link here.
