 Post subject: No Splits paid, but Crew not completely happy

Last night after wages were paid, I didn't have to pay splits, indicating that the crew was completely happy, but I'm not getting optimal performance from my crew. Is this a bug or intended?

You mean your crew are all king slime happy currently, but you're getting a few % poorer performance(I notice this mostly with my trader)?

Yes, my crew are all King Slime happy, I didn't pay splits after the last crew wages, but I'm not getting the full bonus for combat bounty from my mechanic or the full flight time reduction for my navigator.

Just to clarify: I am well aware that you can have a crew that is king slime happy but not at optimum efficiency. However, this has always been accompanied in the past by needing to pay crew splits right after daily wages to get them back to king slime happy. The thing that I am pointing out as unusual is no crew splits were paid, but they still aren't at optimum efficiency.

Actually, they'll stop taking pay once they're king slime happy, regardless of whether they're actually up to full efficiency/happiness. It's kind of annoying, you have to make sure you overshoot king slime on the last split to make sure that they're fully happy, because they won't take more after that.

The other issue is that you might not actually be at full happiness - the icon doesn't refresh properly (an issue I brought up here, but no one seemed to care about). Have you fought any combats recently, and checked immediately after to see if there's a split?

P.S. I am impressed that my description of the Radio almost three months ago is accurate to this day.

Hmm, so if the problem is the one that Kyra suggests, then what's the solution? Go lose a combat so you can tick them off again, then finish them off with a big fat split?

To clarify, what appears to be happening is that splits of combat booty don't quite take the crew to "true" KSH. They may display that way on the icon, they may refuse further combat booty splits, but they're still a little unhappy until you do a split trade profit as well. This is particularly irritating, as this means that you're never going to get your best deal on that trade, which is already getting screwed because the pirates take so much of your cargo at this point.

And here's another wrinkle: sometimes combat losses don't have accompanying displayed injury to your crew, but it does affect their performance. I just had an AR loss (level 54, popped up seconds before landing at Tortuga - combining the late combat bug and the poor AR bug, two of my favorites) at 17:46:18, which as the devs can verify, does not have any corresponding notification of crew injury in that log. Crew still displays as KSH still, and they still refuse splits, but my navi is plotting a leg which is two minutes longer than "true" KSH. I know this has happened before, too, I just caught the log discrepancy this time. We'll see in two and a half hours when I land at Midgard if a profit split will help.

Am I really the only one experiencing this?
