Early evening at the TOGOMA, the Tortugan Gallery of Modern Art:

Visitors in their best evening wear stream in an out of the gallery. A sign at the entrance reads:

Welcome, one and all to the opening night of "The Photography of Prince Harris."

Entering the exhibit, three pictures are displayed prominently in the first room. Signs indicate these were taken specifically for this gallery to display, and have not been shown publicly yet.

Title: Sunrise over Isla Di Pasa
Caption: I was very fortunate to capture this moment. Coming in to land, the zeppelin emerged from behind the skyland quite unexpected. I only had a few moments where the light came together like this, sunbeams playing across the Leviathan and shadows cascading down Isla Di Pasa's slope.
Image
Title: Cidade at Night
Caption: I've always had a soft spot for Cidade. I love the bustle of its busy streets, and the peak energy of the Intercambio. I decided to go against my instincts, and photograph the city looking a little more peaceful. I was amazed at how the lights of the city seemed to blend with the stars behind it.

Title:Three Beasts of the Sky
Caption: I was on hand with my camera during the recent skytopian-wide refueling platform readjustment. Here, a Leviathan is towing one in for minor repairs at Alpha 5. Apparently a wild pilot had collided with the platform's hull (not viewable here). The damage was only cosmetic, but the time was right for fixing it up. The time was right for me too, as I was able to capture a picture of three of the largest objects built by skytopians. If only the Scarlet Blade or Islo had floated by...

As the Governor of Alpha 5, may I say, sir, that that is a lovely shot of A5 and the hard work our citizens do keeping the Fuel Stations of Skytopia working. The A5 Mechanics Union is home to the finest mechanics in all of Skytopia. If you hire a Mechanic, hire A5.

More pictures are hung throughout the exhibit. Many document past events in skytopian history.

Image
Title:Birthday!
Caption:One benefit of being a pilot/photographer is that I can get in the midst of just about anything. This is a participant's eye view of a birthday celebration over Leng. Each year, skytopians across the map jointly celebrate everyone growing older with fireworks, parades, and displaying bright streamers such as these. Some pilots put in the extra effort and paint their craft a garish color, if only for a day.
Image
Title:Battle Over Islo
Caption:One of the less noble aspects of skytopia is its propensity to splinter and conflict with itself. Sometimes, outright violence can emerge, as photographed here. Although the days of large scale combat are in the past, there are still occasional battles between the factions. This photograph was taken hastily while participating in the aerial battle, and depicts the Scarlet Blade, damaged from hits by Azure cannon fire. The Blade would go on to withdraw for repairs, and fighting would continue inside Islo itself for several more days.

Harris, these are stunning. Would you consider exhibiting some or all of them at the Alternative Art Expo?

Really nicely done, Prince Harris! I might use one of these for a desktop pic, if you don't mind.

I have to cast my vote for the one of Cidade. I think it reminds me of Atlantis at night (from SG Atlantis)

Actually, I think this would be really cool, Harris, if this became the first and last travel screens (takeoff and landing). Not -that- much more work, I think - the game currently loads the traveling screen backgrounds every few minutes or so - it would be nice to have the first screen and when time < 5 minutes to landing, slowly scroll across skylandscreen1.jpg. Just a cute little cosmetic addition that differentiates the first minutes from the last.

Also, *wallpaper'd*

Feel free to wallpaper with them as you please. Sorry they arn't taller, but that's the backgrounds I was given to work with.

Deyo, pick whichever you want from the top three. The next two are older and a little less impressive if you ask me.

I plan to be adding to this exhibition in the future, so stay tuned.

Well done. My favorite is the "Three Beasts" but any one of them I would be proud to hang in my blimp.

I think "Three Beasts" might be my favorite, too. It's very nicley composed and balanced. Gives one a very nice sense of the incredible mass of the objects. Beautiful work, Harris, thanks for sharing!

Title: Triumphant Return
Caption: Patrol duty is a given for combat pilots, but occasionally you get a little more than just bounties and salvage. A Bullfrog pilot snapped this photo of the Silvana as we escorted her into Tortuga, and we received a copy of the prints as thanks.

Not sure if this falls under fanart or "photography", but enjoy!

An image snapped during the recent pirate raid on a celebration on Islo. In a brazen attack, the Teach Clan, a ruthless gang of pirates, raided what they believed to be an unveiling of a monumental Azure Project. The gathering was set up as a trap though, in order to lure the pirates into the open. Combat ensued both on the viewing platform (seen smoking near the bottom of Islo) and in the skies.

A Teach Clan aircraft is seen here suffering catastrophic damage as it attempts to evade a pursuing Azure League affiliated Hades. Interviews with the crew of the Hades indicates that the Vengeance suffered apparent structural damage from the Hades' forward firing guns. In an attempt to avoid fire, the Vengeance pilot attempted a high-g Split-S maneuver, putting more stress on the airframe than it's weakened state allowed. Although off frame, another pirate aircraft is already under fire from the Hades. The crew scored a verified 6 kills against the pirate clan during the air battle.

Other air combat continues in the background, including an opportunistic pirate raid on a nearby Leviathan. Reports indicate the crew of both the Hades and Leviathan, both pictured here, emerged unharmed.

PS: Yes I know I was on the platform according to RP, let's just roll with this mmm k?

PPS: Devs, what's up with the forward view of the Hades? The borders of the plane are all squiggly and such, I had to go in and even out the lines.
Here's what I mean:

Awesome shot, Harris. Your eye for composition is sublime.

(OOC: Regarding the Hades image, Kitteh’s chainsaw theory is probably correct, but it could also be a “magic wand’ crop from Photoshop.)
